α-L-Af is a class of glycosidases that can hydrolyze non-reducing furanoarabinose residues, which continuously dissociates neutral sugars such as arabinogalactan and arabinomannan in the cell wall, and promotes the solubilization and degradation of pectin. α-L-Af decomposes p-nitrophenol arabifuranoside to produce p-nitrophenol, which has a maximum absorption peak at 400 nm, and the activity of α-L-AF is calculated by measuring the high rate of absorbance increase.
