MTSB broth
MTSB broth, called modified tryptone soy broth, is a non-selective enrichment medium commonly used in microbial detection, and its core is used for the early enrichment culture of pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella and Listeria in food and environmental samples. Its formula is optimized on the basis of tryptone soy broth, and contains nutrients such as tryptone and soy peptone, which can provide sufficient growth conditions for a variety of bacteria. At the same time, a specific buffer is added to maintain a stable pH value, ensuring the efficient proliferation of target bacteria and not inhibiting other flora. The culture medium has no selective inhibitor, which can retain the diversity of microorganisms in the sample to the greatest extent and provide sufficient bacteria for subsequent selective separation and identification experiments. It is a classic choice for the "enrichment link" in the detection process of food-borne pathogens.
