Neutral xylanase (NEX) Assay kit

Xylanase (EC 3.2.1.8) is mainly produced by microorganisms and can catalyze the hydrolysis of xylans, also known as pentoglycase or hemicellulase, which can decompose the raw material cell wall and β-glucan in the brewing or feed industry, reduce the viscosity of the material in brewing, promote the release of active substances, and reduce the non-starch polysaccharides in the feed, and promote the absorption and utilization of nutrients, so it is widely used in the brewing and feed industry, NEX is generally isolated from microorganisms with an optimal growth pH of 6-8.

NEX catalyzes the degradation of xylan into reducing oligosaccharides and monosaccharides in a neutral environment, and further undergoes a color reaction with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid under boiling water bath conditions, with a characteristic absorption peak at 540nm, and the color of the reaction solution is directly proportional to the amount of reducing sugars produced by enzymatic hydrolysis.
