Trehalose-6-phosphate synthase (TPS) Assay kit
Trehalose-6-phosphate synthase (TPS) Assay kit
Trehalose is a non-reducing disaccharide formed by two glucose molecules linked by α,α-1-1 glycosidic bonds, which is widely found in a variety of organisms such as bacteria, yeast, mold, edible fungi, lower plants, insects, invertebrates and higher plants. The non-reducing nature of trehalose determines its stability to acids, alkalis, high temperatures, etc. In addition, it is highly absorbent, which makes it anti-dehydration in organisms, and can protect plants from adverse environmental damage by recognizing external stimuli, gene expression and metabolic regulation under adversity conditions. The reaction first catalyzes the reaction of glucose (UDPG) and glucose 6-phosphate to produce the intermediate product 6-phosphate trehalose under the action of trehalose-6-phosphate synthase (TPS), and then trehalose 6-phosphate phosphatase (trehalose-6-phosphate phosphatase, TPP) to form trehalose. Therefore, the determination of TPS activity is of great significance for studying plant stress. PS catalyzes UDPG and G6P to produce trehalose-6-phosphate and UDP at the same time; Under the action of pyruvate kinase and lactate dehydrogenase, the oxidation of NADH to NAD+ was proportional to the content of UDP, and the TPS activity was reflected by the absorbance decline rate of 340nm.
