Soil phosphatase is an enzyme that catalyzes soil organophosphorus mineralization, and its activity directly affects the decomposition and transformation of organophosphorus in soil and its bioavailability, and is an index to evaluate the direction and intensity of soil phosphorus biotransformation. The phosphatase activity is significantly affected by soil carbon, nitrogen content, available phosphorus content and pH, and soil phosphatase is generally divided into three types: neutral, acidic and alkaline according to the optimal PH range.

In a neutral environment, S-NP catalyzed the hydrolysis of disodium phenyl phosphate to produce phenol and disodium hydrogen phosphate, and the NP activity could be calculated by measuring the amount of phenol formation.
