pMD2G Vector
pMD2.G is a commonly used lentiviral envelope expression plasmid. In the lentiviral packaging system, it is responsible for providing the viral envelope proteins and, together with the expression vector (such as Lenti-CRISPR V2) and the helper plasmid (such as pSPAX2), constitutes the three-plasmid system for lentiviral packaging. Its core function is to enable lentiviral particles to infect cells and to expand their host range.
