Improved V-P medium

The improved V-P medium is a special medium for identifying microorganisms, especially for V-P test. Its core components include peptone, glucose and dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, which provide fermentation substrate for bacterial growth. Through accurate composition optimization, the culture medium can more sensitively and specifically detect the ability of some bacteria (such as some strains of Enterobacteriaceae) to ferment glucose to produce acetyl methyl methanol (butanediol). When it is used, V-P reagents I and II should be added after culture. If the culture solution has a red reaction, it is positive for V-P test, which is the key biochemical test item in microbial identification.
