The expression of the gusA gene can be directly detected using the GUS staining method, thereby reflecting the expression and activity of the target gene. The coding sequence of the gusA gene contains an intron from the castor peroxidase gene, which ensures that the expressed glucuronidase activity originates from eukaryotic cells rather than residual Agrobacterium cells.
