SG/-Trp Broth

Yeast SG medium (Synthetic Dextrose Minimal Medium/ SG Minimal Medium/ SG-Dropout Medium), also known as basic medium or brewer's yeast nutritional defective screening medium, is widely used in yeast interaction and yeast ion tolerance, function complementation and various wild-type yeasts, and mutant yeasts for identification, screening and culture experiments. The components of yeast SG medium include YNB (containing ammonium sulfate, without amino acids), galactose,17 kinds of amino acids and nucleotide molecules. YNB (yeast nitrogen base) provides growth factors and inorganic salts for yeast growth, ammonium sulfate is as inorganic nitrogen source, and galactose is used as inducer. SG/-Trp Broth is a mixture of Minimal SG Base and DO Supplement-Trp which uses the Trp defect in DO Supplement-Trp to screen strains that can express this component or to activate the relevant reporter gene.
