Yeast SG medium (Synthetic Dextrose Minimal Medium/ SG Minimal Medium/ SG-Dropout Medium), also known as basic medium or brewer's yeast nutritional defective screening medium, is widely used in yeast interaction and yeast ion tolerance, function complementation and various wild-type yeasts, and mutant yeasts for identification, screening and culture tests. The components of yeast SG medium include YNB (containing ammonium sulfate, without amino acids), galactose, 17 kinds of amino acids and nucleotide molecules. YNB (yeast nitrogen base) provides growth factors and inorganic salts for yeast growth, and ammonium sulfate is used an inorganic nitrogen source, and galactose is used as a fermentation carbon source. SG/-His/-Leu/-Trp/-Ura Broth is a mixture of Minimal Base and DO Supplement-His/-Leu/-Trp/-Ura, which uses the His, Leu, Trp, and Ura defects in DO Supplement-HisLeu/-Trp/-Ura to screen strains that can express this component or to activate the relevant reporter gene.
