Yeast SG medium (Synthetic Dextrose Minimal Medium/ SG Minimal Medium/ SG-Dropout Medium), also known as yeast basic medium or Saccharomyces cerevisiae nutrient deficiency screening medium, is widely used in yeast interaction, yeast ion tolerance, functional complementarity, and the identification, screening, and culture tests of various wild-type yeasts and some mutant yeasts. Yeast SG Medium components include YNB (contains ammonium sulfate and contains no amino acids), galactose, 17 amino acids, and nucleotide molecules. YNB (yeast nitrogen base) provides growth factors and inorganic salts for yeast growth, ammonium sulfate as an inorganic nitrogen source, and galactose as fermentation carbon. SG/-His Broth is a mixture of Minimal SG Base and DO Supplement-His to screen strains that can express the component or activate related reporter genes using the His defects in DO Supplement-His.
