Kinetic-nitrate medium is a compound biochemical test medium, which is mainly used to detect the motility and nitrate reduction ability of microorganisms simultaneously. Its ingredients include peptone, beef extract powder to provide nutrition, agar semi-solid matrix (about 0.4%) and key reagent potassium nitrate. After inoculation and culture by puncture, it can be observed that if the bacteria diffuse and grow outward along the puncture line, the dynamic test is positive; Subsequently, sulfamic acid and α -naphthylamine reagents are added, and if it is red, it indicates that nitrate is reduced to nitrite. The culture medium efficiently integrates two identification indexes and is an important tool for identifying bacteria such as Enterobacteriaceae.
