NAC agar medium
NAC agar medium is a solid medium for selective isolation and culture of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Its main components include peptone as nitrogen source and nutrition, glycerol as carbon source, and cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), a key selective inhibitor. This component can effectively inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria and some non-target Gram-negative bacteria, and promote the production of characteristic pigments (such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and fluorescein) to form colonies with specific shapes and colors. The culture medium is widely used in water quality and microbial quality control of medicines and cosmetics.
