It is mainly used for stable expression of shRNA or sgRNA in mammalian cells while enabling visualization of transfected cells and drug selection. The lentiviral backbone allows for the integration of exogenous sequences into the host genome, achieving long-term stable expression, making it suitable for gene silencing, gene editing, and related studies.
