The pY26 yeast expression vector can be used to introduce a target gene into yeast cells for expression, thereby studying the gene's function or producing related proteins. For example, by connecting the key genes of the isoferulic acid accumulation pathway in Rhizopus oryzae, namely the malate dehydrogenase gene RoMDH and the fumarase gene RoFUM1, to pY26TEF-GPD and transforming them into yeast, genetically engineered yeast strains capable of producing isoferulic acid can be obtained.
