pECFP-C1 Vector
pECFP-C1 is a fluorescent protein expression vector, derived from the pEGFP-C1 series. Its primary function is to express enhanced cyan fluorescent protein (ECFP) or its fusion proteins in mammalian cells. It is widely used in protein localization, cell labeling, and live-cell imaging studies. The design combines the advantages of strong promoter-driven high expression and fluorescence visualization, making it a common tool in cell biology and molecular biology research. It is used to express C-terminally fused enhanced cyan fluorescent protein (ECFP) recombinant proteins in mammalian cells. ECFP is a GFP mutant that emits cyan fluorescence (excitation wavelength approximately 433 nm, emission wavelength approximately 475 nm), which can be directly observed under a fluorescence microscope, enabling subcellular localization, dynamic tracking of target proteins, or co-localization analysis with other fluorescent proteins (such as EYFP or DsRed). The vector contains a CMV promoter, which can drive efficient expression of exogenous genes in various mammalian cells.
