Acetate kinase (ACK) Assay kit

ACK is mainly found in microorganisms, catalyzing acetic acid and ATP to produce acetyl phosphate and ADP, and is a key enzyme for bacterial carbon metabolism and energy metabolism, especially in archaeal methane anabolism.

(1) ACK catalyzes sodium acetate and ATP to produce acetyl phosphate and ADP,

(2) pyruvate kinase catalyzes the production of ATP and pyruvate by ADP and PEP,

(3) Lactate dehydrogenase catalyzes pyruvate and NADH to produce lactate and NAD+,

(4) The rate of NADH oxidation to NAD+ was determined at 340 nm, which could reflect ACK activity.
