pYD1 Vector
pYD1 is a vector specifically designed for the Yeast Surface Display system, primarily used to display foreign proteins on the surface of yeast cells, facilitating the study of protein interactions, antibody screening, or enzyme catalysis. It carries an ampicillin resistance gene, used to select E. coli containing the plasmid in LB medium with ampicillin, ensuring the amplification and preparation of the vector. The advantage of this vector lies in yeast being a eukaryote, which can properly fold and post-translationally modify the displayed foreign proteins. Additionally, surface display of proteins allows for direct functional analysis and high-throughput screening, making it widely applicable in protein engineering, antibody drug development, and biocatalysis research.
