Free Fatty Acid (FFA) Assay Kit - Detection of Serum, Animal Tissue, Microorganisms, Cells
Free fatty acids, also known as non-esterified fatty acids, circulate in albumin-bound plasma. The content of free fatty acids (FFA) in animal blood is an important physiological and biochemical indicator. The concentration of free fatty acids in serum is related to lipid metabolism, glucose metabolism, and endocrine function, and the concentration of free fatty acids will increase due to diabetes, severe liver disorders, hyperthyroidism and other diseases. Extract FFA with organic solvents. The organic liquid containing FFA reacts with copper triethanolamine to form the fatty acid copper (copper soap) FFA in the organic phase. Cu ions react with the chromogen to form a purple-red complex. The relationship between the color shade formed by the reaction and the concentration of Cu ions is in line with Lambert-Bill's law, so this reaction can be used for colorimetry.
