Lipoproteinesterase is an enzyme synthesized by parenchymal cells such as adipocytes, cardiomyocytes, skeletal muscle cells, mammary gland cells and macrophages, which can catalyze the hydrolysis of triglycerides into fatty acids and monoglycerides for tissue oxidation and storage, and exhibit different physiological significance in different tissues.

Lipoproteinesterase hydrolyzes 4-nitrobenzene palmitate to produce 4-nitrophenol, which has a characteristic absorption peak at 400 nm.
