Glycogen Synthase (GCS) Assay Kit

(EC 2.4.1.11) Catalyzes the production of glycogen and UTP by UDPG and glucose residues, and elongates the sugar chain by linking to α-1,4-glycosidic bonds, which is the rate-limiting enzyme of liver and muscle glycogen synthase, and is the main target enzyme of insulin action, which plays an important role in the regulation of glucose metabolism and the maintenance of blood glucose homeostasis.

GCS catalyzes the production of glycogen and UDP from UDPG and glucose residues, and pyruvate kinase and lactate dehydrogenase further catalyze the oxidation of NADH to produce NAD+.
