Covalently conjugated pectin (CSP) Assay kit
Covalently conjugated pectin (CSP) Assay kit
Pectin is the main component of the primary wall and mesogum layer of cells, mainly composed of propectin, methyl pectinate and pectin acid. Pectin contains galacturonic acid, lactose, arabinose, glucuronic acid, etc., which are the most abundant polysaccharide components in the cell walls of many higher plants, and their unique physical and chemical properties affect the taste and quality of plant-derived foods. Pectins are cross-linked by Ca2+ bridges and other ionic bonds, hydrogen bonds, glycosidic bonds, ester bonds and benzene ring couplings, and various forms of pectin can be extracted through different extraction methods, such as water-soluble pectin (WSP), ion-bound pectin (ISP) and covalently bound pectin (CSP). Covalently bound pectin (CSP) was extracted by alkali solution with chelating agent, and the pectin content was determined by carbazole colorimetry. Pectin was hydrolyzed into galacturonic acid, which was condensed with carbazole reagent in sulfuric acid solution, and the resulting substances had a maximum absorption peak at 530 nm.
