pENTR223 Vector
pENTR223 is an entry vector developed by Invitrogen as part of the Gateway system. Its core function is to serve as an 'intermediate vector' for the target gene. The target gene can be cloned into the vector through PCR cloning or restriction enzyme ligation, forming an entry clone containing attL recombination sites. Subsequently, the target gene can be efficiently transferred into various Gateway destination vectors via the Gateway LR recombination reaction, enabling rapid shuttling of the gene across different expression systems. It is widely used in high-throughput studies of gene cloning and expression.
