Campy-Cefex agar base

Campy-Cefex agar base is a selective solid medium specially used for the separation and enumeration of Campy-cefex and Campy-cefex in poultry meat and  related products. Its basic ingredients include peptone, yeast extract powder and glucose to provide nutrition,  and ferric pyrophosphate and ferrous sulfate are added as reducing agents to create a micro-aerobic environment. Cefoperazone,  a key selective component,  can effectively inhibit most gram-negative bacteria. This culture medium often needs to add split horse blood to provide necessary growth factors. Cam pylobacter grows on this medium to form flat, gray, shiny and possibly spreading characteristic colonies,  which is convenient for counting and preliminary identification, and is an important tool in food safety monitoring.
