Glycolic acid oxidase (EC1.1.3.15) is an enzyme in the glycolic acid cycle and a key enzyme in plant photorespiration metabolism, catalyzing the oxidation of glycolic acid to produce glyoxylic acid. Glycolic acid oxidase catalyzes the oxidation of glycolic acid to produce glyoxylic acid, and the reaction of glyoxylic acid and phenylhydrazine hydrochloride to produce phenyoxyl hydroxide glyoxylate, with a characteristic absorption peak at 324nm.
