Modified lauryl sulfate tryptone broth-vancomycin (mLST-Vm) is a liquid culture medium for selectively enriching enterococci such as Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus urophila. On the basis of standard mLST culture medium (including tryptone, sodium lauryl sulfate, etc.), vancomycin, a key selective antibiotic, is added, which can effectively inhibit most gram-positive bacteria (especially vancomycin-sensitive bacteria) and some gram-negative bacteria, thus specifically promoting the growth and proliferation of vancomycin-resistant enterococci.
