Pyruvate phosphate bikinase (PPDK) Assay kit

Pyruvate phosphate dikinase (PPDK, EC 2.7.9.1) is a rate-limiting enzyme of the C4 pathway and the Crassuolaceae metabolic pathway, which catalyzes the formation of phosphoenolpyruvate by a three-step reaction of ATP, pyruvate and Pi. This enzyme is mainly found in the chloroplast matrix of C4 plants and has an important regulatory role in photosynthetic function.

The reverse reaction of PPDK catalyzes the formation of pyruvate, ATP and Pi by phosphoenolpyruvate, AMP and PPi, and the lactate dehydrogenase further catalyzes the production of lactate and NAD+ by pyruvate and NADH.
