Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) assay kit

GSH-Px is one of the main enzymes that catalyzes the oxidation of reduced glutathione (GSH) in the glutathione redox cycle. GSH-Px can not only specifically catalyze the reaction of reduced glutathione with ROS to generate oxidized glutathione GSSG, thereby protecting biofilms from ROS damage and maintaining normal cell function. Moreover, it has the ability to protect the liver, improve the body's immunity, antagonize the damage of harmful metal ions to the body, and increase the body's resistance to radiation.

GSH-Px catalyzes the oxidation of GSH by organic peroxides to produce GSSG. Glutathione reductase (GR) catalyzes NADPH to reduce GSSG and regenerate GSH, while NADPH oxidizes to produce NADP+. NADPH has a characteristic absorption peak at 340 nm, while NADP+ does not. GSH-Px activity was calculated by measuring the rate of light absorption reduction at 340 nm.
