pDONR221 is an Escherichia coli-specific entry vector based on Gateway recombination technology. Its core function is to capture the target gene through the BP recombination reaction, forming a stable entry clone, and then quickly transfer the target gene to various Gateway destination vectors (such as plant expression vectors, animal expression vectors, etc.) via LR recombination. It is widely used in gene cloning, vector construction, and high-throughput gene function studies.
