Enterobacter sakazakii isolation agar (ESIATM)
Enterobacter sakazakii isolation agar (ESIATM)
Enterobacter sakazakii isolation agar (ESIATM) is a chromogenic medium for selective isolation and identification of Cronobacillus. Its nutrients include peptone, yeast extract and sodium chloride, and the key identification system is based on the unique α -glucosidase activity of the strain. When the target bacterium exists, the enzyme secreted by it can hydrolyze the chromogenic substrate in the culture medium and make the colony appear characteristic blue-green; Other Enterobacteriaceae bacteria are usually colorless or show different colors. This highly specific color reaction combined with selective inhibitors in the culture medium enables it to effectively separate and preliminarily identify Cronobacterium from complex samples such as infant formula, and is widely used in the field of food safety monitoring.
