Buffered kinetic nitrate medium is a compound biochemical test medium, which is used to detect the motility and nitrate reduction ability of microorganisms simultaneously, especially for the identification of Clostridium. Its ingredients include peptone and beef extract powder to provide nutrition, agar to form semi-solid matrix (about 0.5-0.7%), and potassium nitrate as nitrate source. After inoculation by puncture and anaerobic culture, it can be observed that if bacteria diffuse along the puncture line, it is dynamic positive; Then add sulfamic acid and α -naphthylamine reagent, if the liquid level is red, it indicates that nitrate is reduced to nitrite. This culture medium is an important tool for the identification of anaerobic bacteria, especially Clostridium.
