TPGY medium is an enriched medium for Clostridium botulinum and its toxin production. Its name comes from the main components: tryptone, peptone, glucose and yeast extract powder, which together provide extremely rich nitrogen sources, carbon sources, vitamins and growth factors, and can effectively promote the growth and reproduction of Clostridium botulinum and the synthesis of neurotoxins. The culture medium is used under anaerobic conditions, and is often used as a basic culture medium.
