Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) is chemically degraded and inactivated under the action of IAA oxidase. IAA oxidase can regulate the level of indole-3-acetic acid in plants, thereby affecting plant growth.Under inorganic acid conditions, IAA reacts with FeCl₃ (ferric chloride) to form a red product, which has a maximum absorption peak at 530 nm. The enzyme activity can be expressed by the rate of IAA consumption.
