Blood Calcium Content Assay Kit
Blood Calcium Content Assay Kit
Nearly all blood calcium exists in plasma, so blood calcium mainly refers to plasma calcium. Plasma calcium exists in two forms: ionized calcium and bound calcium. Among them, only ionized calcium exerts direct physiological effects. Ionized calcium and bound calcium are in a dynamic equilibrium, and this balance is affected by blood pH.Blood calcium levels are related to a variety of important physiological functions; either excessively high or low levels will affect normal physiological functions. This kit is used to detect the concentration of free calcium in blood. In a strong alkaline solution, free calcium reacts with GBHA (Glyoxal Bis(2-Hydroxyanil)) to form a red calcium-GBHA complex, which has an absorption peak at 520 nm. The concentration of free calcium is calculated by measuring the absorbance at 520 nm.
