Culture medium for determination of Clostridium perfringens

The medium for determination of Clostridium perfringens is a solid medium for selective separation and identification of Clostridium perfringens. Its basic components include peptone, yeast extract and other nutrients, and the key selective inhibitor D- cycloserine can effectively inhibit most non-target miscellaneous bacteria. Egg yolk or milk is usually added to this culture medium, and it can be quickly identified by observing the characteristic reaction of egg yolk decomposed by lecithin enzyme (Nagler reaction) and lactose fermentation acid discoloration. It is a standard tool for detecting and counting Clostridium perfringens in food, water quality and clinical samples.
