Blood Phosphate Content Assay Kit
Blood Phosphate Content Assay Kit
Blood phosphorus mainly refers to inorganic phosphorus in the blood, which exists in the form of inorganic phosphate salts. The concentrations of calcium and phosphorus in plasma are closely related; when expressed in mg/dL, the product of the two ([Ca] × [P]) ranges from 30 to 40. If ([Ca] × [P]) > 40, calcium and phosphorus will be deposited in bone tissue in the form of bone salts; if ([Ca] × [P]) < 35, bone calcification will be impaired, and bone salts may even dissolve, affecting osteogenesis. The relative stability of blood calcium and blood phosphorus levels depends on the relative balance between two metabolic processes: the absorption and excretion of calcium and phosphorus, and calcification and decalcification. This balance is regulated by hormones such as vitamin D₃, parathyroid hormone, and calcitonin. After removing organic phosphorus from serum, inorganic phosphate salts react with ammonium molybdate reagent to form phosphomolybdic acid, which turns blue after being reduced by ferrous sulfate and has light absorption at 660 nm. The phosphorus content in the blood is calculated by measuring the absorbance at 660 nm.
