Cytochrome P450 enzymes are a group of isoenzymes mainly present in the liver, playing a crucial role in the metabolism of exogenous substances, particularly the metabolism of drugs and toxicants. As an important member of the P450 enzyme system, NCR (NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductase) catalyzes the reduction and regeneration of oxidized P450.NCR catalyzes the reduction of oxidized cytochrome C by NADPH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, reduced form). Reduced cytochrome C has a characteristic absorption peak at 550 nm, and the activity of NCR is calculated by measuring the rate of increase in absorbance at 550 nm.
