Hydrogen Peroxide(H₂O₂) Assay Kit

Hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) is the most common reactive oxygen species (ROS) molecule in organisms. It is mainly produced by catalysis of enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and xanthine oxidase (XOD), and degraded by catalysis of enzymes such as catalase (CAT) and peroxidase (POD).H₂O₂ is not only one of the important reactive oxygen species, but also a hub for the interconversion of reactive oxygen species. On the one hand, H₂O₂ can directly or indirectly oxidize intracellular biological macromolecules such as nucleic acids and proteins, and damage cell membranes, thereby accelerating cell senescence and disintegration. On the other hand, H₂O₂ is also a key regulatory factor in many oxidative stress responses.

H₂O₂ reacts with titanium sulfate to form a yellow titanium peroxide complex, which has a characteristic absorption at 415 nm.
