pSUC2 Vector
This vector is a basic tool for the yeast secretion signal peptide function verification system, with a core structure containing the yeast invertase (SUC2) gene lacking its own signal peptide. It has a multiple cloning site upstream, allowing insertion of signal peptide sequences to be tested or target gene fragments containing signal peptides. If the inserted sequence contains a functional secretion signal peptide, it can guide the secretion of the SUC2 fusion protein outside the yeast cell, enabling the yeast to grow on a medium with sucrose as the sole carbon source (SUC2 catalyzes the decomposition of sucrose into utilizable monosaccharides). It is mainly used to identify secretory signal peptides of proteins, analyze signal peptide functions, and screen protein variants with secretory activity, serving as a common tool for studying protein secretion mechanisms.
