pSUC2-Avr1b Vector
This vector is a specialized tool for the yeast secretion function detection system, with a core structure of the fusion sequence between the Avr1b gene (an effector protein gene from plant pathogens such as Phytophthora sojae) and the yeast invertase (SUC2) gene. The SUC2 gene lacks its own signal peptide, so its secretion depends on the signal peptide carried by the fused Avr1b protein. If Avr1b contains a functional secretion signal, it can guide the fusion protein to be secreted outside the yeast cell, enabling the yeast to grow on a medium with sucrose as the sole carbon source (SUC2 catalyzes the decomposition of sucrose into glucose and fructose for yeast utilization). This vector is mainly used to verify the secretion ability of the Avr1b effector protein, analyze the function of its signal peptide, and can also be used to screen effector protein mutants with secretory activity, providing a tool for studying the mechanism of pathogen effector proteins entering plant cells.
