YP Medium

YP/YEP medium is the standard medium for the maintenance and propagation of fission yeast and brewer’s yeast, and it is composed mainly of extract and peptone. YEP broth is YPD without glucose and is used as a basal medium for variant culture. YEPM medium is a YEP medium with the addition maltose and can be simply written as YPM medium. YEPS medium is a YEP medium with the addition of sorbitol and can be simply written as YPS.
