Total Antioxidant Capacity (T-AOC, DPPH Method) Assay Kit 

The total antioxidant level in the test object is composed of various antioxidant substances and antioxidant enzymes. In biological, medical, and pharmaceutical research, the total antioxidant capacity is often detected in various body fluids such as plasma, serum, saliva, and urine; lysates of cells or tissues; extracts of plants or Chinese herbal medicines; and solutions of various antioxidants.

1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) is a stable free radical. It is soluble in polar solvents such as methanol and ethanol, and has a maximum absorption at 515 nm. When an antioxidant is added to the DPPH solution, a decolorization reaction occurs. Therefore, the antioxidant capacity of antioxidant substances can be quantified by the change in absorbance, using Trolox as a reference system.
