Total flavonoids generally refer to flavonoid compounds, which are widely present in natural plants and belong to plant secondary metabolites. In an alkaline nitrite solution, total flavonoids form a red complex with aluminum ions, which has a characteristic absorption peak at 510 nm. The content of total flavonoids in the sample can be calculated by measuring the absorbance of the sample extract at 510 nm.
