Lacate Dehydrogenase (LDH) Assay Kit
Lacate Dehydrogenase (LDH) Assay Kit
L-lactate dehydrogenase (L-LDH, EC 1.1.1.27) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. It is the terminal enzyme in the glycolytic pathway, catalyzing the reversible reaction between pyruvate and L-lactic acid, accompanied by the interconversion between NAD⁺ and NADH. L-LDH catalyzes NAD⁺ to oxidize L-lactic acid into pyruvate. Pyruvate further reacts with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine to form pyruvate dinitrophenylhydrazone, which turns brown-red in an alkaline solution. The intensity of the color is proportional to the concentration of pyruvate.
