Isocitrate Dehydrogenase Cytoplasmic (ICDHc) Assay Kit
Isocitrate Dehydrogenase Cytoplasmic (ICDHc) Assay Kit
Cytosolic isocitrate dehydrogenase (ICDHc, EC 1.1.1.42) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. It catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to produce α-ketoglutarate, while reducing NADP⁺ to generate NADPH. ICDHc is another important source of NADPH in the cytoplasm besides the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP), and its activity usually changes significantly under stress conditions. The activity of ICDHc is determined by measuring the increase in NADPH concentration at 340 nm, based on the reaction where ICDHc catalyzes the reduction of NADP⁺ to NADPH.
