Glutamate Synthase (GOGAT) Assay Kit 

Glutamate synthase (GOGAT) is mainly present in prokaryotes, yeasts, and proplastids of non-green tissues in higher plants. Together with glutamine synthetase (GS), it forms the GS/GOGAT cycle and is involved in the regulation of ammonia assimilation.

Using NADH as an electron donor, GOGAT catalyzes the transfer of the amino group from glutamine to α-ketoglutarate, forming two molecules of glutamate. The rate of absorbance decrease of NADH at 340 nm can reflect the activity of GOGAT.
