Ammonium nitrogen is one of the main nitrogen sources absorbed and utilized by plants. Based on the reaction principle between ammonium nitrogen and indophenol blue, this method uses the phenol-hypochlorite direct color development method to determine ammonium nitrogen. The blue indophenol produced is proportional to the concentration of ammonium nitrogen, and it has a specific absorption peak at 630 nm. Based on this, the content of ammonium nitrogen in the sample can be calculated from the absorbance value.
