This vector belongs to the plant mitochondrial fluorescent labeling system, carrying a fusion sequence of the cytochrome c oxidase subunit 4 (COX) gene and the mCherry red fluorescent protein gene. COX4 contains a mitochondrial targeting signal peptide, which can guide the fusion protein to be specifically localized in mitochondria. The mitochondrial morphology, distribution, and dynamic changes can be clearly displayed through the fluorescent signal, which is suitable for the functional analysis of plant mitochondrial proteins and subular localization analysis.
