Trehalase (THL) Assay Kit
Trehalase (THL) Assay Kit
Trehalase (THL, EC 3.2.1.28) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. The main function of trehalase is to catalyze the decomposition of trehalose into glucose in organisms, which is then directly used for energy supply. The 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) method is used to determine the content of reducing sugars produced by the catalysis of trehalose by THL. When heated together, reducing sugars react with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid to form a brownish-red amino compound. Within a certain range, the amount of reducing sugars is proportional to the color intensity of the reaction solution, and THL activity is determined based on this relationship.
