β-Glucuronidase(β-GD) Assay Kit
β-Glucuronidase(β-GD) Assay Kit
β-Glucuronidase (β-GD, EC 3.2.1.31) is a lysosomal acid hydrolase responsible for catalyzing the depolymerization of β-D-glucuronides, and has become a viable molecular target for various therapeutic applications. This enzyme is widely distributed in mammalian tissues, body fluids, and microbiota, and can also be found in plants, fish, insects, and mollusks. For humans, the expression of β-GD is increased in necrotic areas and other body fluids of patients with different types of cancers such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, renal cancer, and leukemia. Therefore, this enzyme can serve as a reliable biomarker for tumor diagnosis and clinical treatment evaluation. β-Glucuronidase can catalyze the substrate 4-nitrophenyl-β-D-glucuronide to generate p-nitrophenol, which has a characteristic absorption peak at a wavelength of 405 nm. Since the absorbance value of p-nitrophenol is proportional to its content, the enzyme activity of β-glucuronidase can be calculated by measuring the amount of p-nitrophenol produced per unit time.
